A Series of Unfortunate Events

Thursday the 2nd was a bad day. I could say it was riddled with bad luck, but I dont believe in luck. SO, let's just say that the probability of something like that happening is slim.

It all began when I lost my car keys. Dont ask me the where's and the how's. I obviously had it when I locked the door, but 7 hours later, it went kapoofff. I spent a grief stricken 30 minutes 'bouncing' about in IMU asking the various department and people whether they have seen it- but to no avail. In the end, I just gave up and decided to go home to take the spare key.

To add insult to injury, we received our exam results that day. The 'A' proved to be elusive....

To add 3M HCL to an area of fatty necrosis (specific isnt it?), I was really excited about that day. Becurz

was out. Deb and I already made plans to watch it that day AND i was suppose to drive.

When I say I lost my car keys, that includes the apartment keys and the house key. Therefore, I had to wait my mom to reach home first. Since she was working late that day, I decided to go ahead and watch the movie in Times Square as originally planned. Stopped by Low Yat to check on the availibility of iRiver Clix, but cant find a single store that sells it. I have actually never been to Low Yat, and having been there- dont think I'll ever go there again. The items that they sell have a somewhat questionable origin. Looks like i'll buy the iPod nano after all. Also made a minor detour to get some DVD's. Oh, since my sneakers were in the car, I had to walk around in my leather shoes. I dont have to tell you how uncomfortable those were. Debbi on the other hand was showing off politely telling me that she got new shoes. Anyway, the Covenant was nice (8/10), definitely worth watching. Wont mind watching it again, but need to watch the Departed oso. Conflict conflict.

Oh oh, Debbi WANTED to belanja me Pizza Hut, but I was kinda broke (therefore would feel guilty if she paid). So in the end, we decided to have dinner at Station Kopitiam. The food was unexpectedly brilliant for the low price. Where were we? Oh, after the movie, took the Monorail to Kl sentral and consequently the LRT to Ampang Park - where I meet my mom at 10pm. When we got home, I decided to take my father's car to IMU in the morning. Since I lost all the apartment keys as well, I needed to make copies from the keys Yx have. Arranged for him to pass the keys to Megala because he was leaving for MV after lectures the next morning. Reached IMU at about 12:45pm the following day, and guess what? I left my phone at home. ARGHHHHH!!!! Was feeling so ridiculously stupid at that time.

Luckily Probability would say that I have a high chance of meeting someone from M1/06, found James in the canteen and borrowed his phone to call Megala. Took the keys off her and went to pay the parking ticket for my dad's car (I already paid for my car the previous day). However, the parking ticket which I paid the previous day has expired and needed to be exchanged. Went to the guard house to change it. When I inserted my parking ticket into the machine to get out, it said 'card expired'. You can already guess what happened right? I gave the wrong ticket to the guard to be exchanged. What I have on me is yesterday's parking ticket. HUHUHUHUHUHUH!!!! Parked the car yet again and yes, I climbed 3 floors up to deal with that little problem.

By the time I left the parking lot, I was already worried about Yx. What happens if he comes back a early? He wont have his keys and no way of contacting me. So rushed home to deposit some stuff, and went to Friday prayer. Stopped by C4 to make duplicates. Decided to pass Yx's key to Megala, and asked her to call Yx updating him off the situation. But I couldnt not locate her. By chance (probability), I meet Leang. Unfortunately (probability again), he doesnt have Megala's number. ARGHHHH!!!! So decided to call Deb to ask her Megala's number. She didnt pick up!! ARFGHHHHH!!! Fine!! Used Leang's phone to call Kajen and asked him if he knows Megala's address. He doesnt know&*%^$$%#$%#%^&*^. Then guess what he said? He said "... hang on, i'll ask megala. She's with me..." HAHHAHAHAA!!!!! Kajen said meet them at MPH6. Went to the third floor, but there is no such thing as MPH6. *&*%^&^%$^$$. Was on the verge of a nervous breakdown when I met charlotte. She told me MPH6 is actually on the 4th floor. So went upstairs, and guess what? YX was with her. :-p HAHAHHAHA

Gave him the keys and cabut home because I needed to return my father's car before he gets back from India this Saturday. Haiz, so much problem from that lost bunch of keys. I hope whoever found it has the decency to pass it to the lost and found. But this being Malaysia, the PROBABILITY of that occuring is pretty slim, bordering on nil.
So that's it.... hope I didnt bore you...

Well, Raya's over. I can finally bask in the sweet sweet smell of chewing gum in the morning once more. Let's start where most good stories begin, in the begining.

Actually planned to skipped the Friday's lecture, but thanks to Debbi's black magic vodoo- my car broke down (let's skip the minor details except the part where I almost banged into the car in front of me AND where I was scared shitless). So have to send it to be repaired- finally picked it up on friday after lectures. As usual, any repair on that bloody nuisance of a car costs a bum load. Truth be told, I was kinda glad to be there on friday. We received our pre-ordered jersey (finally!!) and did a photo shoot afterwards; the results...

Packed my bags and cabut for home on the same day.

On Day 1 of Raya- woke up early to visit my nenek (father's side) in Klang. Dropped my mom off at her house and went to Sembahyang Raya. One of the sermons was quite hillarious. The imam was clearly jittery, you can hear the person next to him whispering '..jangan lupa....cakap lagi sekali...' over the microphone. Tut Tut. Anyway, when that was over and done with- there was nothing else but the good fattening part. It was '...food glorious food...' all the way till about 2 p.m. Stuffed my self with rendang, sate, ketupat, lemang, pulut, and most importantly, the various assortments of cakes and cookies. Yum Yum.

Moving from house to house. It's so unfair, but the kids get more Duit raya than me. Hmpf!!!

The aunties. My nenek is on the far right whilst my parents are at the table eating the very hot but very nice sambal sotong.....

After we're done moving from an unknown (to me that is) house to yet another stranger unknown house, we all crowded back into my nenek's house. Just lounged there eating cookies till about 6pm. Reached my house back at around 7:30 and started packing for Kedah.

Day 2/3/4 - As usual, the outbound journey was delayed by minor incidents. Finally left Kepong 1 and a half hour behind schedule. My parents can actually drive to Kedah within 3h and 15 min. When I drove that day, we left at 11:30 am and reached there at 4:15pm. You do the maths. To my defence, we encountered a torrential downpour. I could barely see 1 metre ahead of me. It was that bad. AND it poured consistently as well. Also, it doesnt help when you hear comments like '..perlahan sikit...kereta kat depan tu dak dekat dah...nanti kena saman you bayar...brek!!! brek!!!...'. Reached Kedah all sleepy and a bit moody. For most malay families, you only dress up on the first day of raya. After that, it's t-shirts and shorts all the way. The same applies to us. We did things that you normally expect at a family reunion (all of my 7 uncles and aunties where there-it was quite a joyous occasion).

The only thing worth mentioning is that it took the menfolk 3 hours to get the BBQ fire started (much to the delight of all the aunties who sat there and 'snickered' all the way).

On Friday, we went to some unpronounceable place and....

Returned back to KL at 7 am on saturday. This time ladies and gentleman, there was no rain nor crowd. So....reached Kl at 10:30 am *claps hands*.Must say I'm quite proud of myself. I'll try to beat that record next year. :-p

Anyway, slept till about 2 pm then went to meet Ira at 1u. The sole purpose of me going there was to visit the new GAP store- I had Duit Raya to spend as well. But my god!! The price. HUHUHHU. When I was in UK, GAP was affordable. Now, it's just outrageous. An 'ok' looking shirt costs about RM150. I wanted to buy this nice looking jacket before I realised it was RM500 (499 to be exact). Left the store pretty hurriedly after that. My hand was already inching its way towards the credit card. Try explaining that expenditure to my father.

Was surveying the prices for a new mp3 Player as well. But cant seem to find any store that sells iRiver clix. Probably have to go to Low Yat after all. Moved to GSC after that, but all the good seats was taken. So decided to spend our time at San Francisco Cafe chatting. The Carbonara meatball there sucks. Highly not recommended!!!

Life as a Medical Student

They say that medical students are intellectual beings. This is untrue. It may surprise you, but this is as intellectual as we get. Exhibit A: a conversation between Deb and Min.

Min : Haiz. Cant study! Was day dreaming. Panic Panic!!!!

Deb : Huh! Day dreaming about? I know ‘never mind’ huh

Min : I’ll tell you mine if you tell me yours.

Deb :Yeah. I was day dreaming about minesweeper

Min : I was day dreaming that you lost minesweeper.

Deb : harhar…. Liar

Min
: I thought that we were playing the lying game. Weren’t we?

Deb : Oh. I wasn’t… I don’t lie, remember?

Min : I thought that we were playing the lying game. Weren’t we?

Deb : Oh. I wasn’t… I don’t lie, remember?

Min : I’m bored. Text*. But you never lie deb. I think I might be obese. I’m so happy that summative is coming. I wish this feeling could last forever. I’m sure I passed the CPR exam with flying colours.

Within 30 minutes....

Min : Haiz. I am still waiting for a reply you know. Never mind la. You must me asleep. See you tom.

Deb : I am waiting for a reply. I replied your message what. I read the CSU handout,

Don’t really understand most of it.

Min : Huh? You sent me the same message twice. I thought it was an error. You must have sent that one twice,

Deb : Uh. You sent the same message twice oso. So it’s your fault

Min : What what. ZZZ. There must be a problem with the system, I’ll show you tom. Anyway, I’ll resend my last message.

Min : I’m bored. But you never lie deb. I think I might be obese. I’m so happy that summative is coming. I wish this feeling could last forever. I’m sure I passed the CPR exam with flying colours

Deb : Haa. I didn’t receive that.

Min : I’m so awake right now. I don’t have anything else to revise. I memorized everything already. I think I’ll go for a jog.

Deb : Ya ya. Your’re morbidly obese. I’m so awake too. It’s ok. I get to wake up late

tomorrow. I’m sure I’ll be really attentive during lectures.

Min : That’s so not funny. If you don’t have to wake up early, let’s go and play DOTA now. We are both awake anyway. You only need to know the advance stuff in the CSU manual.

Deb : Yeah. DOTA then, you can come pick me and we’ll go. And we can pull all nighter playing dota. So looking forward to CSU tomorrow. Since I get to wake up late, poor you have to get up early L

Min : I am coming now. Let me just take off my undies. I think you better stay awake now. I am trying to sleep till morning today. I got some things to forget. Then, I’ll probably revise in the afternoon, immediately after the second lecture which I am sure to go to.

Deb : I just won the expert minesweeper! Wah, what you have just said is so simple that I completely understood it Are you going to wake up now or are you asking me to stay awake?

Min : I’m asking you to stay awake la. I’m trying to sleep. ‘Always mind’. Haha. I wont try to decipher for you tomorrow.

Deb : haha. Ok. I’m going to wake up after I finish reading this bit. So, good morning!!

Min : Hope you have horrible nightmare filled with JU ON and the RING lady. Haha

Deb : * I’m going to sleep with the lights on* Hmph!!!

Next day....

Min : I studied all day today. I’m so happy about it. So, I hope you had a terrible lunch with your kids.

Deb
: yeah the lunch was horrible. I studied right after I reached home also, was feeling energetic that I read in the car too. What time did you study until?

Min : Till about 3. Then sleep a bit. Then went to C4 to ‘lau sai’. I didn’t buy a really horrible alarm clock. You should not see it sometime. It dims in the morning.

Deb : Um. Ok. I don’t know if I should ask- what did you ‘Lau sai’? Eh, what does sIG stands for by the way?

Min
: Something immunoglobulin. I ‘lau sai-ed’ ayamas. It felt so horrible. You ‘lau sai’ yet?

Deb : hahahaha. Yeah Lau sai-ed right after I slept. Plus I Lau sai-ed a lot, feel so hungry now.

Min : I am so hungry too. Maybe I should have ‘lau sai’ more. Feeling so happy now. All the fat sure will deposit at my Mons pubis.

Deb : Hhaha. Beh tahan. Crying like mad here. Think my brother thinks I am perfectly sane. Ok dunno what to say already. :’)

Min : If you want your brother to cry- show him the ‘lau sai’ I was in tears when I wrote the mon pubis. I think I ‘ lau sai-ed’ so much that I think I wanna eat cecair.

Totally unexpected right? However, that was 100% original. But what wasn’t inserted in the message was;

Min
:I’m bored. Text*. But you never lie deb. I think I might be obese. I’m so happy that summative is coming. I wish this feeling could last forever. I’m sure I passed the CPR exam with flying colours

Text*.= Let’s say the opposite of what we meant. I’ll start.

Try to decipher the message now. If you still cant understand, tough....Hahah...
